Lineup

House Band

The Stompers House Band is a live band we’ve built from the ground up, gig by gig, show by show. It continues to grow weekly out of our Monday nights at R Bar in Asbury Park and has become one of our most adaptable setups for private parties, weddings, restaurant residencies, and summer concert series.

This is our plugged-in lineup — electric keys, bass, guitar, drums, and horns — built to stretch into funk, soul, rock, groove, blues, and New Orleans-inspired sounds. It’s still got the firepower of the Stompers' horns and vocal harmonies, but with the dynamic range and flexibility to slow it down or take it to the rafters depending on the room.

Seven musicians with instruments, including sax, trombone, and trumpet, pose in a room with a curtain. One wears a "Bob's Country Bunker" shirt.

The core lineup

  • Ian Gray: trombone and vocals

  • Ryan Gregg: keys and vocals

  • James McCaffrey: guitar

  • Declan O’Connell: bass and vocals

  • Charlie Patierno: drums

We rotate in some of our favorite musicians from the extended Stompers crew — Joe Gullace on trumpet, Robin Clabby or Wil Schade on tenor sax, Kevin Grossman on percussion, and many more from our NJ, Philly, and NYC community of full-time working players. You never know who might sit in — from surprise guests and national touring acts to local legends like Al Holmes at R Bar on a Monday.

Want to level it up? Add a powerhouse female vocalist and a full 3-piece horn section, and you’ve got our Stompers Event Band — the full experience we bring to weddings, large-scale private events, and festivals. It’s the same tight crew, just expanded to move the needle even further.

Flexible Options

  • Base Package: Core 5-piece band

Typical Set Lengths

We usually play 3 x 45-minute sets over a 4-hour window, or 2 x 75-minute sets for a 3-hour event. Set times can always be adjusted to match your event flow.

For Planners or Venues

We can use your house system or bring our own pro gear (RCF / Allen & Heath / Shure). Horns are always on wireless mics — ready to travel with the crowd if the party moves.

This lineup contrasts with our fully acoustic Brass Band — it’s our rhythm-section powered setup that leans more into rock, groove, and electric energy.

Have you seen us in a wedding band setting? Or second-lining through the crowd as our Brass Band? Maybe DJ Gray with live horns at a dance party?
